HISTORY
Purley Baptist Church has been an integral part of the local community for since 1886. For over a century, we have gathered around one unchanging mission: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, make disciples, and love our neighbors well.
What began as a small congregation of faithful men and women has grown into a church family that spans generations-held together not by tradition, but a shared belief in the living Word of God and the transforming power of his grace.
What We Believe
We are an evangelical, Bible-believing church. At the heart of everything we do is the conviction that the Scripture is the inspired, authoritative Word of God-sufficient for life, godliness, and the knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
We believe:
- The Bible is God's inspired and authoritative Word.
- Every person is made in God's image and in need of redemption.
- Jesus Crist is Lord - fully God, fully man - who died and rose again for sinners.
- Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
- The local church is central to God's plan for His people.
Our Mission
To glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ through the faithful preaching of His Word, sincere worship, genuine community, and compassionate service.
Our Services
Our Sunday services are centered on expository preaching - working through the Bible passage by passage knowing that every word of God can shape and challenge us. We sing together, pray together, and encourage one another in faith.
